Football: New Albirex Niigata president Daisuke Korenaga wants to open more doors for Singaporean players

SINGAPORE - He has seen how Chanathip Songkrasin's J1League move has opened doors to the Japanese professional ranks for Thai players, as well as for Consadole Sapporo to market in Thailand.With his appointment as president of J2League side Albirex Niigata earlier this month, Albirex Niigata (Singapore) chairman Daisuke Korenaga hopes to be a similar "bridge" between Singapore and his native Japan, giving more opportunities to Singaporean players.
